Summer Camps at Apex

The following camps for 6–13 year-olds are run in Apex in the Halle Cultural Arts Center at 237 North Salem Street. For information about registration or other information, please call the Apex Community Center directly at 919-249-3402 or check the Apex Community Center Summer Camps web page for more information and their registration form.

Registration in Apex begins on March 20 for Apex residents and April 3 for non-residents.

Note: RLT cannot take registration forms for Apex classes.

Creative Players (Apex)

For ages 6 – 8

Let’s put on a play! Using scripted material based on the fun story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, young actors will learn the skills needed to bring a story to life on stage. Please bring a healthy snack and a water bottle. There will be a Presentation for family and friends on Friday at 11:45am. No previous experience necessary. Limited to 12 participants.

June 12-16, 9:30am-12:30pm

Multi-Arts Camp (Apex)

For ages 8–12

Act out a story, sing a song, dance to the music and create a masterpiece all in one week! Students will be placed into small groups according to age and attend daily workshops in acting, singing, dance and art. Please bring lunch and a water bottle. There will be a Presentation for family and friends on Friday at 12:45pm. No previous experience necessary. Limited to 32 participants.

Session 1: June 26-30, 9:30am - 2:00pm
Session 2: August 7-11, 9:30am - 2:00pm

Sing It Out (Apex)

For ages 9–13

"Singing and Acting and Dancing, oh my!" Students will learn the skills needed to bring the mini-musical – At the Bandstand! – to life on the stage. Please bring lunch and a water bottle. There will be a Presentation for family and friends on Friday at 12:45pm. No previous experience necessary. Limited to 12 participants.

July 10-14, 9:30am-1:30pm

From The Page To The Stage! (Apex)

For ages 11-14

Students will free their imaginations as they explore a variety of ways to bring the “page” to the “stage.” Improvisation and theatre games will be used to help students construct several unique scripts focusing on the “Nate the Great” detective series. Please bring a healthy snack and a water bottle. There will be a Presentation for family and friends on Friday at 11:30am. No previous experience necessary. Limited to 14 participants.

July 17-21, 9:30am-12:30pm
