Teens on Stage

For ages 13–18

This intensive six week theatre program culminates in six performances of Public Works' The Tempest, an exciting new adaptation of William Shakespeare's play adaptation, music and lyrics by Todd Almond and Originally Conceived and Directed by Lear DeBessonet. TOS students attend conservatory classes which include: acting, voice, improvisation, and training in how to analyze and perform Shakespeare's text, as well as rehearse for the production.

About the TOS Play: In The Tempest, former Duke of Milan, Prospero, lives on an island with his daughter Miranda. When Prospero's enemies wash up on shore, he uses his black magic to seek revenge and restore himself to power. Shakespeare’s last play is full of magic, humor, love and forgiveness. This new version includes music and aims at connecting the community to the work on stage. The cast of characters and learning how to perform Shakespeare make this a ‘can't miss’ opportunity!

About the TOS Auditions: Entrance will be by audition only. Auditions are February 20 & 21 at 7:00 pm (choose one night) with callbacks on February 22 at 7:00 pm. Read about the roles and other details.
